Actually you can define a model 27 or 54 in a IBM DS8k with a number of cilinders not multiple of 1.113 (1 disk model-1 or 1 extent), but the remaining space will be wasted For instance in my shop there are defined model 27 with 32760 cilinders, 29,4 extents. The DS8k use 30 extents to define this
