Surely this has to be a bug in cfengine. I, too, keep stumbling across
something similar in different contexts. The reference manual only mentions it
once

cfengine works like this currently. To my understanding all non-defined lists
are replaced witch "cf_null" and processing functions (join() etc.) will ch
