situations such functionality nay even break class definitions and cause
unpredictable behavior, f.e. it does not change any classes which already

During the build process I get
mingw32-make.exe[1]: [install] Error 1 (ignored)
mingw32-make.exe[2]: [install] Error 1 (ignored)

on the console, though they seem not have any bad effect on the build

These are most probably explicitly ignored errors returned
by copy command (on install) trying to copy files on itself.
It happens if you don't specify HB_INSTALL_PREFIX.
An advise for everyone:
Please post your complete std+err output if there is any error,
because it's nearly impossible to gues
I don't think so. 'clean' will clean the "temp" files and dirs created by
simple make run. It will never delete
anything from your install dirs though (again: same
as old non-GNU make). If you're unsure, compare the
folder size after build and after a consecutive 'clean'.

Just a thought; in 3) you say that it deletes files from step 1, but aren't the
files from step 2) also deleted (when the install happened from inside the svn
root); also, an uninstall option which undo what step 2 actually does would be
interesting, without touching what step 3 del
