I have been playing around with containers to create something for a
book:
https://gitlab.com/pjotrp/guix-notes/blob/master/CONTAINERS.org
these are (Docker) images that can be run by anyone - which is great!
Only (minor) issue is the containers are 1.4GB in size. These are the
biggies in this
Another route is to create a container using just the essential
dependencies, like I did here:
https://gitlab.com/pjotrp/guix-relocatable-binary-packages/blob/master/README.org
Binary with dependencies distribution down to 18Mb. Of course locales
won't work ;)
And yes, I am still using relocatab
Hi GuixSD team,
from looking at [1] and [2] my impression is that GuixSD is still at
version 2.2.2 with Expat, while there is version 2.2.4 with bugfixes
upstream. Is there anything blocking an update on your side that needs
fixing upstream?
Best

Another thing that just came to my mind is the hard-coding of file name
separators instead of using a combination of checkers to see if the
'file-name-separator-string matches the *target* system (as is briefly
told in `info guile', the GNU Guile Scheme infopage). Although I don't
know if macOS use
I hope they get more used to referring to GNU operating system, or
GNU/Linux operating system too.
I find it puzzling that most people call it Linux, the kernel (Linux)
alone isn't an operating system, let alone usable without one. ;)

Thanks for the report!
I see that 2.2.3 fixed a CVE, so I hurried up a patch[0].

Are there plans to support POWER 8-9 systems for the GUIX package manager and
GUIXSD? I had read about TALOS and was just curious about that support being
worked on.

I haven't heard of anyone working on it, but we have
