A general remark: groff uses a simplified version of TeX's hyphenation
algorithm; it can also directly read (simple) TeX pattern files.
There is basically no restriction on the number of languages which ca

Good evening,
I agree. What I meant was that if protruding of drop caps was possible,
one could use the function manually, and p

I have been looking at the output from pic, eqn and friends, and I am a bit
amiss to
what 'language' they speak, it's not groff intermidiate language to be fed
inte gtroff,
so what is it then ?
Also what is the recommended language for a groff preprocessor ?
I have been oogling the doc
It's pure roff. That's the language that all the macro packages are
implemented in. Think of roff as assembler and the macro packages as
C and you are pretty close.

Don't draw premature conclusions from this
One thing I would like to see is the original AT&T docs brought into
alignment with the current groff. I think it is an embarrassment that
the groff docs aren't in roff, that's like using CVS to store the
sources
to Subversion, it doesn't say much for our faith in groff.
I've been threatening to

Hi everyone,
I have a couple of simple questions which I hope you
can help me with. The files I am working with (composed
in 1985) are composed with MS macros.
(1) The postscript output option (-T ps) puts the stuff
between .DS/.DE in variable-width font, although I would
have expected fixed widt
