s is useful where you split amounts into known amounts (eg 1/3rd)
I find this useful where tax amounts are split into personal & tax claimable
for instance.

I also have old ´sleeper´ accounts: a hidden main account (bit obvious: a
snooze!) then drop old unused accounts into that main account.

one thing that would help in Australia is in the setup to be able to set the
year start as 1 July, & end as 30 June.
Currently the only options are the beginning of the year, monthly, quarterly,
or absolute.
I usually use absolute, resetting each year.

income. ´rental tenant bills´ in Australia is split at tax time as a deduction.
For Multiple properties, there would need to be accounts for each property
set up to suit the GC user.

even be post dated), then Schedule starts at the transaction after.

As an aside, tracking vehicle costs will become harder when one plugs in at
home (EV) & wants to be re-imbursed. The issue is the tax collectors need an
audit trail. Here in Australia it seems it might be easier to merely claim
Kms (that the tax office has a standard Km rate for). Does not affec
(1 July to 30 Jun in Aussie). Each year it
is only a matter of adding new accounts,
& massaging the dates (resave the report if there are account changes so they
are picked up next year)
The report can either be totals, or itemised. I give my accountant itemised,
but they use the totals.

The hack proposed by Bruce Schuck in the thread "Yahoo Closed the Door on
Finance API" also works for Flatpak install of Gnucash v. 5.3.
