I still don't know what the underlying problem was, but I was able to get
it working by uninstalling Strawbery Perl entirely, reinstalling it, and
then running GnuCash's installation script.
The previous version was “perl 5, version 30, subversion 0 (v5.30.0)”. The

I thank you all for the discussion, it has been very interesting.
What I am trying to do is to establish a workflow with GnuCash that provides
some decisions on the three somewhat intertwined questions:
How to handle the transition from one year to the next

Hey, is anyone making any progress with this? Getting hundreds of dupe messages
from this list, filling up my inbox.

Hi,
If you are getting duplicates, then it is because you are in the CC. Like
this message, you are in the CC so you will get one copy directly and one
through the list server. The 'via GnuCash' is most likely due to people
with domains with DMARC rules that would prevent verification unless the

#1 - I don’t think so, at least not without a custom invoice report.
#2 - You can type anything you want there, but without re-coding the UI, you
can’t add anything to the drop down list. That would be a good case for an RFE.
And on that note, I’m not sure why the column is even there if you can

Interesting idea, there certainly is a bewildering range of reports to choose
from :-)
Alternatively, I could dig into writing my own report, I know scheme fairly
well, so I guess that should be doable as well.

Time to catch up I've been using 2.6 for a while, but want to get to
3.8.
Do I need to go via 3.0 with a 'check & repair' before going to 3.8, or can
I leap directly to 3.8?
Thanks for any assistance,
Rob.

Log on to your GnuCash mailman account and change your preferences. There is an
option to only receive one copy if you are also in the To: or CC: fields.
Mailman can’t stop the independently sent copies, but it won’t send you one
from itself in that case.

It would be a good idea to get to 2.6.21 first if you aren’t there yet.
That version can read 3.x files, so if you have to step backwards for any
reason, you can still open the file.
As for stepping through 3.x before 3.8, I’m not sure. I don’t think it is
necessary, but it won’t hurt other tha

Martijn,
Some banks allow GnuCash to use the OFXDirectConnect process to download
transactions directly into GnuCash via a process called Aqbanking which is
built into GnuCash but requires setting up with information from your bank.
Not all banks will allow this, particularly from open source pro
