Jon,
It is not very clear what situation you are dealing with. One would not
usually move stock from one account to another as such. Their purchase or
sale would normally be recorded in an Asset:Invetment account of type Stock.
What you are recording is the exchange of money to or from your bank a

Thanks for the great work Steve.
I am currently using Linux Mint 18.2 and GC 2.6.17. I am wondering if
this .deb will run on my system, or will I have to update Linux MInt to

Thanks

There shouldn't be any danger trying it, though obviously back

Thanks to both Steve and Colin for replies.
I think I will try the .deb on my test system before installing on my
production machine.
I will provide feedback for both cases.

I believe Colin had to install libboost to get it to work on his 18.10.
This feedback is good as it shows me that checkinstall probably isn't
the way to do this.

Hi,
I installed gnucash 3.3, 64 bit on my Win 10 computer. It starts up fine.
I ran "Install online price retrieval for gnucash" from the start menu.
After about an hour, it claims Strawberry perl was not installed and
could not find it. Apparently, the PATH variable was not updated with

It should probably be filed in Bugzilla, but I think it might already be there.

Try digging into Gnucash.app and find taxtxf.scm
Then find "!0,2f" in line 590 and replace it with "~0,2f"

Jon,
Sorry for the overkill Jon.
In that case it is fairly simple. If you open the transaction in the account
register they are in then edit the account entry split which debits them to
that account and just select the new account you want to move them to in the
drop down list. If you click on ano
Hi,
GnuCash v 3.4. I am trying to add a stock account for shares traded on the

Jon,
David C. makes one suggestion. I would ask whether the destination account is
also denominated in the selected stock. If not, then gnucash will convert
between different commodities (e.g., between shares of stock and USD).

Now David Cousens, you are confusing me. If you are referring to

Hit ADD button
Type ASX in the textbox for Type: fill in the other details.
This can't be done from the New Account dialog for an account of Type Stock
however. The commodity has to be created first in the Price editor.
