Bruce use your file explorer to locate your data file then use File Open from the menu inside GnuCash to navigate to that position, select the data file. The newly installed version has no memory of where Flatpak kne the file was located us the config/user preference information where the last file

I have been using Flatpak for GNC when I discovered that a version is in the Debian which I installed. and removed the flatpak files. when I went to open my data file either by double clicking the data files or Open from GNC: No suitable backend was found for ... (See attached) This is Version: 4.
