I don't think I am seeing all of this conversation, but based on what I see, I can mention what I do in a similar situation. I often withdraw money from a USD account in MXN. Then use the MXN in cash for living expenses. When I get cash from the ATM, I make one entry in Gnucash with two lines:

Sorry, but that does not work for me. I am in the XCD account. I enter all amounts as if they were the XCD amounts on the receipt. So, I enter 108.32, 90.02, and 18.30. Based upon what I see in the splits, the 108.32 is done as USD, not XCD. Also, the credit card is done as USD, not XCD. When I c
