The purpose of the postpone button AFAIK is to abandone the reconciliation if
there are major corrections to do and it leaves the reconciliation status as it
was before starting the reconciliation dialogue.

There is no time limit on reconciliation.
What you are describing is a match limit on importing.
Those are two separate functions entirely.
If you open an account, and click the Reconcile button, it will show all
unreconciled transactions since the beginning of your book. I just
