Don,
thanks for your advice and explanation.

one account, so in total 25 minutes.
Nevertheless I think having the layout of the database can help making
own reports easy.

I've followed the http://wiki.gnucash.org/wiki/Custom_Reports_Using_Eguile
page and made various changes to both the taxinvoice.css and
taxinvoice.eguile.scm files. Nothing changes in the report output.
Any advise.
Fedora12 with GnuCash from SVN.

FWIW GnuCash on Mac OS X is what let me finally turn off the lights on
Windows for good: Quicken was the only thing I was using any more. (If my

HI, whilst this is a fascinating discussion and I am sure useful for future
development could I ask we get back on topic and help me find out why my
installation of GnuCash simply crashes out when trying to save-as MySQL.
Either no one has 2.3.17 working with MySQL 5.1.53 on a Windows 7 32bit

I was thinking that if I get the data into an MySQL database I might be able
to access the data more easily (read\only) to look at producing some form of
checking account forecasting tool, either with XL or Access.

HI
Thank you, there is some good advice here. I do actually have a laptop with
Ubuntu 10.10 on but have never considered using it as my 'proper' machine, we
just use it occasionally as a spare machine and for the odd job that just seems
too hard on Windows.
