Geert, With r22717 the circular dependency has been removed. It was dealing with an obscure case that may not actually be required anyway. I'll look at it in more detail later and either implement it another way or conclude it's not needed. If you could confirm that r22717 resolves the problem yo

Hi Alex, I'm impressed with the size of this patch. Unfortunately that also kept me from reviewing it more thouroughly. :( Today I noticed though that this patch causes the Windows build to fail. It looks like you are introducing a circular dependency between the gnome and register modules.

Yawar has got a patch ready to commit to both trunk and 2.4 that adds a new tip of the day entry. Somewhere I seem to have picked up that no new translatable strings should be introduced in the stable branch unless strictly necessary. Is my memory correct or what is the exact backport policy
