Okay, please surf on over to the gnucash sourceforge page, at
http://sourceforge.net/project/?group_id=192 and click on that little
"patch" icon. or go halfway down the page to the "patch manager".
choose the patch. choose "view raw patch". save that one to disk,
and check it out.

We used to have that problem at school when we were programming too. I
don't know if this was a specially written script (or program) but we had
something called dos2unix - it would take out all of the break characters
- something to look into.

As I just tried Linas comment (which is long ago..) about the standard
startup-directory (which is /.gnucash), I found that the file-dialog
doesn't display the 'dot'-files or directories. ( I just tried to get
some data automatically loaded..)
