I like the HTML idea, but why don't you create the HTML output

Does force double entry mode work from the GUI? I tried adding the
following to the config.auto file:
(xaccConfigSetForceDoubleEntry 1)
In this mode GnuCash aborts with the following message when I try to
record a transaction regardless of whether it is a proper double entry
transaction

Thank you very much! Finally I was able to install and start gnucash after I
download slib2c5.tar.gz
Now my first difficulty: Importing QIF files. As soon as I select one to import
gnucash crash and disappearing.:((
I'll look in the Archive, but if you know the solution plese let me know also.

Has anyone looked into porting GNUCash to BeOS? I was wondering how
integrated the GUI is with the core poricessing, since the port would
need the GTK calls converted to native Be calls.
