Hi Emmanuele,
Thanks for the tip, I didn't know that.
Still it's more convenient to my use case "catch" bugs while I'm available
(active on IRC) rather than goign trought all the emails.
But I was also worried about the channel being too busy.
So if no one more have m

Hi,
Gnome shell has a big amount of filed bugs per day. I think that makes it
uncontrolable for free-time contributors like me.
But I think we(free time contributors) are still interested in new bugs to
solve or to mark them as duplicated and do a little of bugzilla management.

Hi, list,
Thanks for raising bugs but in case nobody said this: GNOME shell are
only responsible for what happens with the gnome-shell module, not the
entire gnome git moduleset so this list is possibly not the right place
for a discussion about gnome bugs everywhere but since the topic is
raised

they really don't: duplicate bugs don't show up in queries, and
marking dupes takes literally two clicks
They don't. Don't feel bad about reporting too many bugs.

bugs are usually marked as WONTFIX; people can ask them to

If you search for a bit and don't find anything, just report it. If it's a
duplicate, it's not a big deal, it's a few clicks for me.
I'd rather have 20 duplicates than one unreported bug.

I wish you could clean up bugs from un-maintained modules or bugs you won't
fix, because it makes hard to file new bugs, since you have to search if a
bug exists.

Only six or so were actual bugs.
I do report bugs whenever I find them, but the majority of

Since Gnome is the face of my OS, I expect robustness more than fancies. I
understand that fixing bugs is boring while implement new feature is

But people do *LOVE* that metaphor. It seems as though, in America,
**everything** is a car. And, BTW, nobody *else* knows how to drive,
they are all 'idiots'.

no, there are 46,000 tickets open (excluding requests for
enhancements) in the *whole* GNOME Bugzilla as for 2013:

I have a feeling this will upset the developers but I believe it has to

I recently read that there are 46,000 bugs in Gnome 3.
Now I would think logic would dictate that you fix bugs instead of
implementing new features.
Seems like the developers are more interested in change than
for this component [3].

Yes, see https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi
Hi, I'm currently testing Gnome 3.4 on Arch Linux. I installed it
with the testing and gnome-unstable repos enabled.
I tried going on the IRC to discuss these issues but I keep getting
kicked saying "Killed (Proxy or TOR node (tor-irc.dnsbl.oftc.net))" I
do run a relay, but I'm sending my IRC th

suggestions from Dan Williams.)
Because of the number of patches *on* these lists, I'm not going to look at all

Hello all,
I have compiled a list of all the small bugs that have been fixed since the
3.0.1 push that may be nice to have in this upcoming upgrade for both Gnome
and Mutter. I hope this will be useful in the decisions you have to make for
the upgrade!
