I agree, it would be useful if someone wrote the separate gnome-speech
text output driver. Just in case someone uses Speech Dispatcher he can
get the result quickly w
a line printer.
I think you can simply use Speech Dispatcher backend with a custom
trivial command line output driver where you replace GenericExecuteSynth
with whatever you want, see
/etc/speech-dispatcher/modules/dtk-generic.conf for an example.
(The Speech Dispatcher backend should be availabl
reported as Bug 291714, but
there's no further activity on the bug since the beginning of May. So
Sun's Mozilla accessibility build is unusable on Debian.
We tried to use Firefox as well. It doesn't segfault but has another
fatal bug -- it often starts reading a particular line
hen I first start Mozilla and only then Gnopernicus, it works fine
(although it may crash later). Is this a known issue?

the current line as
expected.
When I run Firefox without Gnopernicus, no caret jumping happens.
Has anybody observed this problem? Is there a way to go around it?

Omigod, it's a flame war about a flame war. You know, a meta-flam
estival, so the bug may not
be present there or the general text->speech processing may be less
sophisticated than in Festival.
