[Gimp-user] how to select within a selection

Can someone tell me how to make a fuzzy selection within a rectangular selection? I want to bucket-fill the green areas only in the top left. So I rectangular-select the top left, and use the fuzzy-select tool, but the fuzzy tool continues to selection in the entire image. Thanks much, Helen
