Hi,
I've been attempting to start akregator-3.5.2 (as part of the
kde-base/kde-meta package) for some time, and have been consistently getting
crashes. The only piece of diagnostic material that I can provide is the
following backtrace.
Thanks in advance,

Hi all,
I haven't emerged my system in a while because of this problem, and
now it is getting back to me.
pam-login reports that it is being blocked by

Hi folks,
Quick question. Is there any way that one can unpack an ISO image:
extracting the data that is contained within it like a tarball,
without having to burn it to a CD? I'm sure there's an option
somewhere within either the mkisofs or cdrecord man pages, but I feel

Dale,
I believe that the kernels have been able to write to NTFS safely for
some time, now.
In fact, as I recall from the last time that I built that
functionality into my own kernel, menuconfig said that there were
never any reported problems with the same code that has been in place

ey question, how do I fix the problem? What other
information do you need to aid in diagnosing the problem?
Thanks in advance for all of your help!

Richard,
Thanks. x11vnc did the trick just like I needed.

simply can't fit the entire desktop onto the screen. Playing with the
-geometry option fixes this problem, but leaves me with massive
windows that don't fit on the screen. Any ideas here?

All,
Samba proved to be a very simple and effective fix. Plus, as was said
earlier, it doesn't break any of the rules that my school has in
place.
Thanks again, all, for your help.

Third, since we're both behind a router, using something like DynDNS
to provide a static contact despite the dynamic IP won't work either.
So, I guess what I'm wondering is if there's any way to make this
work, or if I'm SOL?
Thank you much for your help.

Where might I find a USB flash drive under /dev? Is there anything
extra that might be needed to support a digital voice recorder?

Dave,
Yup. Had a feeling that you might be right about that one.
It seems that the computer will still crash, but certainly not as often. My
guess: there is a bigger problem that is aggravated when the computer is
under more stress; ie: tracking excessive amounts of kernel complaints, etc.

Thanks Jonathan.
Anyone have any thoughts on this? I'm not a bash or any other programmer, and
was wondering if this would work. And how might I code that while loop?

Thanks Dave.
1) The problem appears to be independant of the kernel version, as I've had it
occur on a 2.6.10 and 2.6.12 kernel.
2) How might I check for flakey hardware?
3) I have had my BIOS respond after 3 crashes that the computer crashed due to
excessive heat. I think that this maybe inde

I believe that most of the technical information that is needed has been

Hello all.
I'm having problems running Apollon. I'm currently attributing these problems
