I'm using the new "skype alpha for linux" for some weeks and can say that it is
more stable than the other version ever was.
- writing and calling is working out of the box
- it looks more or less like the windows version
It ships a "ffmpeg.so" and a "libnode.so".
The only thing I had to emerge

There's a typo in the "scrypt" USE-FLAG. A bug-report seemed to big for
that.
Correct would be "scrypt: Use libscrypt for the scrypt
algorithm"
