Hi -
The POM is actually just for site generation currently. In the next release,
we'll probably have Maven artifacts to release as well, though.

You seem to have a pom.xml but if I understood correctly you're not
using maven for releasing. In case you are this might be useful:

+1 Non-binding. I appreciate Eric's concerns, but we are releasing
Bigtop project here,
not the artifacts it is capable of producing. That said, settling on
an appropriate (and
configurable!) naming convention for packages would be a really high priority
for us in coming weeks.

I would view this as an experiment.
Granting all podling committers access to the entire incubator seems a
bit overbroad.

Given that we're not releasing binary convenience artifacts for this
release, would this be something that could be fixed in 0.2.0-incubating
rather than this release?

blergh, sorry about the date and the DISCLAIMER text. Fixing the DISCLAIMER
on trunk now. I've also done BIGTOP-26 on trunk. I'm honestly not sure about
the filter files - will check on that going forward.

AIUI that's only binding as far as the Bigtop PPMC (podling PMC) is concerned.
You don't seem to be on the Incubator PMC, which is what is required
for binding votes on a release.

This thread has got rather long and complicated.
May I suggest creating a new thread (i.e. not a reply) with just the
details required for the new vote?
Change the subject to include RC2 please.
Thanks!

This is the first incubator release for Apache Wookie, with the artifacts being
versioned as 0.9.0-incubating.
We have already received 2 IPMC +1 votes (plus an additional 3 PPMC +1 votes)
during the release voting on wookie-dev.
Vote thread:
http://incubator.markmail.org/search/?q=wookie-dev#
fwiw, in this case, we weren't releasing via Maven, so there wasn't a
technical reason to reuse the tag.
And yeah, sorry, this is my first ever ASF release, and our mentors
suggested we try releasing in order to find out what needed to be fixed for
the release. =)

Wink is on my ToDo list. Just need a bit of free time...
Tags are supposed to be immutable.
For example, add an -RCn suffix which is removed (SVN copy or rename)
when the vote succeeds.
Failing that, please quote the revision number of the tag.
Otherwise it's not possible to determine what was actually voted on.
