GCC does not assume the stack is aligned to 16 bytes if it cannot prove that it
is. That GCC aligns the stack to 16 bytes itself is compliant with the

long double is 12 bytes, C requires arrays to pack dense, thus a 12 byte
long double has to be aligned to 4 bytes at least in arrays.

CONFIRM. Affects all GCC with pointer intent (4.3/4.4/4.5). For
subroutine set_ptr (ptr)
type(string_container), pointer, intent(out) :: ptr
one shall not deallocate the pointer. The pointer intent is differen
