I disagree this is a bug, it's just a difference in controls having
horizontal sliders rather than vertical ones. In star traders you can be
pretty precise with the sliders, and get single amounts on them very easily
because they take up quite some screen room so you have lots of spac

You are running into an unfortunate bug with slighter handling. The problem
happens mostly with sliders that have very low maximum values. This bug
impacted King of Dragon Pass for a long time, for instance, and hasn’t been
fixed in Star Traders yet.
