Hi Kelly.

All quantity screens in the game work the same way whether your picking up stuff you find on a planet, adding fuel to your ship, doing repares or buying and selling cargo.

Basically, There is one percentage slider. when it is at 100 percent the max amount of stuff will be given to your ship. So for example if you needed to repare 10 solar sales once the slider is at %100 you will repare all. Likewise if you have a full hold and want to sell you need to move the slider to zero percent to give everything to the sale.

Equally, if for example you had 15 metals in your hold ad space for 30 itemsthe slider would begin at %50 and you could either sell all your metals by moving to 0 or buy 15 more buy moving to 100. It actually is a very elligant solution to do interactions with just one control.

The sliders themselves are horizontal rather than vertical. Flicking a finger up and down will move you by incriments (though sometimes this doesn't work), however the most efficient way to interact with the slider is to double tap and hold then swipe your finger left or right, though bare in mind a big swipe is sometimes needed right to the edge of the phone).

I admit it took me a while to work them out but now I actually really like the slider syste, it's much more efficient than say typing numbers or having to find and tap numbers in a column.

Hth.

All the best,

Dark.

Subject: [Audyssey] Repairing Items in Star Traders RPG

Hi,

I just started playing Star Traders RPG on my iPod Touch. So far, I've docked, fulfilled a contract at a palace, and have upgraded my ship with some items such as some solar sails among other things. I'm now getting messages saying that two of the sails are in need of repair. When I double-tap on the "Fix sails" button, it brings up a screen with "buy", "sell", two text boxes with dollar amounts, two more boxes with "0" and "2" (which I assume is the number of repairs), and a slider. Unfortunately, I can't seem to do anything in this screen. "Buy" and "Sell" don't appear to be buttons, I can't edit anything in the text boxes, and the slider stays at 0% and won't move. In short, nothing works when I double-tap on it. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to proceed?

Thanks.

Yours Sincerely,
Kelly John Sapergia
