You can use mri_label2label specifying your subject as the source and
fsaverage as the target and --regmethod volume. This will convert the
coordinates to mni305 space. You can then use read_label.m to load the
label into matlab

Hi all
I was wondering whether it’s possible to get the talairach coordinates
associated with each label in the segmentation. I would like to use
Freesurfer’s segmentation for analysis in Matlab. How to create a text file
with the talairach coordinates of each label (or of a specific label, by
There's not an automated way to do this. You can run
tkmedit fsaverage orig.mgz -aparc+aseg
then put in the talairach coordinate in the control panel and see where
the cursor goes.

Hi FreeSurfer,
My fMRI time series come from Brain Voyager and x,y,z-coordinates are in
Talairach space.
Thank you.

What are you using the to the fMRI analysis? What coordinate system do
you have the fMRI xyz coordinates in? Eg, RAS, col-row-slice, etc

Hi FreeSurfer,
I would like to know the x,y,z- coordinates of all atlas ROIs in Talairach
space.
I have the x, y z coordinates of the voxel time series of an fMRI task. I
would like to know which of these voxels belong to a particular ROI.
Can you give me advice, please?
Thank you.

the subject 'fsaverage', included in the subjects dir of the
distribution, is already registered to talairach space, and it contains
the desikan annotations, so you could get the coords from that. you'd
have to load it in tksurfer and click on the center vertex of region to
get the coord though, a
Hi all,
We are trying to depict spatial relations of each of the Desikan et.

regions' center Talairach coordinates in common space, not in relation to any
particular group or subject. Is there a way to do this
Hi all,
How can I get the Talairach coordinates for the center of each of the
gyral regions? Is this information listed somewhere or do I need to calculate
it, if so how would I do that? Thank you.

The coordinates are in mni305 space. If you load it into tksurfer, you
can see both MNI305 and Talairach coords. The Talairach coords are based
on a transform from MNI305 from Mathew Brett.

Dear Freesurfer team,
I used the lh.inflated file in an average subject to obtain its
vertex’s coordinates. My question is: What anatomical space or
reference system was use in this file? or instead, How I could obtain
the Talairach coordinates of each vertex?
Thank you in advance,
Rafa.

Iris,
I think this bug was fixed in v4.0.3. We can also just post tkmedit for
you to download if you tell me your distribution, ie, type:
cat $FREESURFER_HOME/build-stamp.txt

Feng-Xian,
The coordinates are surface coordinates. qdec does not display the Tal
coords, but I think this will be added in a future release.
You can get the Tal coords using tksurfer. The surface displayed in
qdec is the 'fsaverage' surface, so that can be loaded in tksurfer.
First, in qdec, m
Hi,
I have some problems about surface coordinates.

plot of the data for a particular vertex by left-clicking on a point while
holding down the Ctrl key. It shows a plot and its plot window shows this
