Hi Knut,
That's a good question. Anatomically striate cortex is located in the
occipital lobe and is identified by a stripe of white matter that runs
through the center of it. While this stripe is visible by the naked eye in
gross specimens it is not
Yes, the tutorial was written when the 7.2 release was in the last stages of
development. What happened between then and the final, released 7.2 was that it
now just figures out that the input is 1D by checking the dimensions of the
input, so you don't have to specify it on the command line.

Yes, calcarine is a pretty good guess for location of V1, although we also
produce an explicit estimate in the *exvivo* label files.
And sorry, I don’t know Ron and Rahul’s parcels well enough to say what combo
would give you visual cortex

hypotheses/models from the literature that include such terms as
"extrastriate cortex". It is not always defined - but I guess the most
common definition would be visual cortex tha
