I have put my subjects through the recon-all procedure and most ended with
no errors. But some ended with an error message, after the command line:
mri_diff aseg.auto.mgz aseg.mgz
saying:

no, it's not. You can compute the GM volume by adding up the volumes of
the individual gm structures in the aseg.stats file (e.g. caudate,
putamen, cortex, etc).
