DOSEMU 1.1.1-3 is really old now, and the freedos in the rpm

In order to type those characters you need two things:
(1) that the characters you want to represent are printable on the
screen. For this, you'd use DISPLAY (see documentation and such),
because default codepage (character set) will not have the capital
