True! I forgot of Triple-DOS.

Hi Aitor,
the topic reminds me that we have

in our archives - it is 20 years old and rather limited,
but it might still provide some inspiration somehow :-)

I realize I'm a little late to this party, but I've got a couple of comments.
The first thing I think to note is that DOSShell was MUCH more than just a
program launcher. It include the same basic implementation and functionality

That certainly is functionally equivalent to the mmenu401 I was
referring to, perhaps it's an earlier version of that program, though it
sounds a bit more advanced than that one, but what the heck, if it
serves your purposes, then it's all worth it.

Or do you mean FLOSS?
Maybe you want to try Chris Long's DOS Menu Creator:

Not the program I was referring to in my initial post, but that is
certainly an excellent program with a ton of features, and if I still
ran a dos machine, I'd certainly use that one. The filename of the one
I had I think was mm401.zip. I can't however find that particular
archive anywhere.

Interesting,
I am looking for a fairly simple, ideally text-only, app menu system.
I've found an assortment on the FreeDOS Repo:
https://clasqm.github.io/freedos-repo/Launchers.html
And a few on BTTR:

All have something wrong with them.
