That's exact
Hi
Thanks for the answers.
Bret, if we talk about real hardware with FreeDOS (or even DOS), using your
USB drivers. Is there any way to attach an USB gamepad and have some kind
of program that maps that USB gamepad as a game port gamepad, so old games
that use the gameport can work with a USB gam

While MKEYB is small, there's a lot of things it doesn't do that the larger
KEYB program does that you may find you need or at least be useful.
One of them is the manipulation and correct handling of different Code Pages as
Aitor indicated. Another one is that MKEYB doesn't report itself correc

I *think* depending on your BIOS settings the sleep button
could indeed work. This should not depend on

Hi Harry,
you do not rename any files with mkeyb, you simply
run the command with the name of the layout as the
command line option after a space: MKEYB space SG
enter :-) I have no experience with modifications
of the ISO, but I would expect it to be mainly for
install and live CD purposes and
Hi Thomas,
You can use FDAPM APMDOS to save energy while there
is low CPU load, which is most of the time in DOS.
You can use FDAPM SUSPEND or FDAPM STANDBY to put
the system in a low power state, if your BIOS does
support that.
You can use FDAPM SPEEDn with N being a digit from
1 to 8 to redu

Thank's a lot Eric!
1.
Does that mean I could rename MKYB.de to MKYB.ch
and replace "Language: de, 858" with "Language: sg, 850"
and remaster the ISO?
2.
And putting the following line to autoexec.bat (but can only find
autoexec.drf and autoexec.dbx in the FD13LGCY.iso)
install=MKEYB SG

that it might be healthier (?) for the
computer to halt it, also in FreeDOS.
Bootup time from USB stick is around 10 secs or so, but too long to always
switch on and off the machine.
I remember there is a power-saver by Eric and others again, maybe this would
suffice or do the trick?

What exactly are you trying to accomplish? Save Power? Save the current state
of a program? Make booting faster?
