the EASIEST way in my experience, to create a bootable USB drive with a .img
file, is to use the program called etcher. this is not a plug for them, but i
haven had a bad experience using it yet

Rufus is a program that formats the sectors on the USB drive to make it
bootable.

Sorry about the very newbie question, but I am trying to create a bootable USB
drive with FreeDOS, and the .img file is defaulted to IrfanView, an image view.
How do I make a bootable USB with that .img file? Thanks for the help.
