into my CD drive. It booted up to the Freedos screen asking how I wanted to
run it or install it. I selected 1 to run off the CD. Then it came to the
screen with 1 2 or 3 selecting EMM386 with himem and I selected 3 Then sinc

Well there is a special boot diskette for systems which cannot
boot from CD. This diskette then continues booting with the CD.

As said - you cannot. If you have a diskette drive, things would
be easier. But for changing the CD, you have to edit the virtual
diskette on the CD, because the "normal CD" part of the CD cannot
be used before DOS CD drivers like SHSUCDX (similar to MSCDEX)
