[Freedos-user] check for format

2005-04-11 Thread Adam Peart
Is there a tool that can check to see if a hard drive has been formatted or not. I know the beta 8 installer had a whichfat, but it could only detect fat16, not fat32 or ntfs. Does the latest version look for the others, or is just fat 16 still? --

Hi, yes, you can run several DOSEMU instances with several DOS versions: To do that, you can either write a short shell script which shuffles the configuration files / diskimages / symlinks- to-virtual-drive-directories / whatever, or you can install a boot menu in DOSEMU. The latter can be quite

Good day: I don't know if it will boot FreeBSD, but I use the GAG boot loader to triple boot all of my machines...Linux, Windows XP, and various flavors of DOS. I find it much easier to deal with than LILO or GRUB. When I install the Linux OS, I install Lilo or Grub in the MBR of the /root parti

I have had little problem "dual-booting" FreeDOS and Linux. I used the quotes because I usually boot four or more OS's on a given PC. It is easiest to start with a floppy boot image, tweak it until it works as you want it to, and then install to the HDD. I have just been learn- ing that grub doe

Hi Mark, Fox, it is REALLY annoying that the XMS Swap version of FreeCOM only has LOADHIGH, not LOADFIX, built-in. Does anybody know WHY the LOADFIX command is explicitly removed if you compile with XMS Swap enabled??? As a temporary workaround, you can waste some memory until you have the first
