l kinds of combinations).
I have no experience in comparable setups without the vlan "layer" though.
What seems to be your predicament?

blocksizes?
I'm not really that well versed in blocksizes / filesystems and am often
wondering where my 5TB zvol (bhyves into an ext4 volume for an ubuntu
guest) exactly disappears into :P

Hi Allan/Jason,
I think Ill have a go at the "missing space" situation again after some
reading up. Since I went with the default block sizes (on both the zvol
and the ext4 fs) I probably have some reconfiguration to do..
Thank you very much for your feedback/directions!

Hi Harry,
What are your reasons for preferring ng_bridge over the "normal" bridge?
Kind regards,

very interested in switching to such a setup (or at least play with it).
I'm running my vm's without any helper project so I'm flexible enough to
do some fiddling :P
Do you know of any documentation on using bridge_ng together with bhyve?
My search-engines don't turn up
ystem, very interesting!
Thank you (again) for your elaboration :)

Hi Raji,
Runs fine with recent grub-bhyve (only using "server edition" vms, dunno
about the desktop stuff).

Using bhyve in several setups. Only one that is overcommittet is a
quadcore AMD cpu (A4-5000) with 16 gb ram that runs 14 vms (2 of them
dualcore i think).
Rock solid.
