Hello,
I have a kernel with SW_WATCHDOG and simply enabled watchdog in rc.conf.
I haven't found much info on that topic but I guess when the machine hangs
(watchdogd doesn't get a result from the trivial fsck (what's that btw?)) the
kernel will reset the machine. Best would be if I never see wat

I tested it (after removing the DOS ^M characters) again

Hello all.
I use FreeBSD 5.3-RELEASE-p5 on i386. Sometimes my system is stuck at the
last steps of shutdown. Following quoting is what I saw yesterday when my
system was stuck again (the last lines):

Hi,
Recently (within the last 2 weeks or so) something was committed which
messed up my ability to grab pics off my canon PowerShot S200. I type "gphoto2
--auto-detect --get-all-files" on the commandline, and the following (roughly,
since it's from memory) message pops up:
WARNING: device_dest

Interesting...

Do yourself a favour and use -O2 -fno-strict-alias instead, because
some ports *are broken* with plain -O2.
I just tried this on a 5-STABLE dual opteron, and it complained about
unknown option. I had to specify the full option -fno-strict-aliasing

Maybe Sean Kelly can tell us how SW_WATCHDOG interacts with ACPI,

I've found that only "geom_vinum_load="YES" works in order to get the RAID
