handshake is used before http headers, it just can't be done. -Uzi Try the telnet trick mentioned by others, but simply type "GET / HTTP/ 1.0" -- it should give you something about trying to talk HTTP to a HTTPS server. Would explain why lynx/links aren't working. /Eirik
