For the archive:
I noticed that everything went fine with my keymap as soon as I booted
without my USB mouse connected. I also got the "Configuring syscons..."
messages during boot (which I didn't get before).
I then plugged my USB mouse in another USB port and now everything works
like expecte

Yesterday I upgraded from 5.3 RELEASE to 5 STABLE. Everything went fine,
but my keymap is no longer working. In rc.conf I have
keymap="german.iso", but I can't type german umlauts.
As soon as I do "kbdcontrol -l german.iso" it works like expected, but
after a reboot it's gone. Am I missing
