Is there a way to obscure/hide the patch level that displays
on a newly built kernel? Or to change it so it appears to be
something consistent?

Getting this error from a straight configure of libjava:
checking for exception model to use... configure: error: unable to detect
exception model
So gcj never seems to get built fully/completely or working.
If I try to run gcj I get:
bash-2.05# ./gcj -v
Reading specs from ./../lib/gcc-lib/i3
ovide, please let
me know. Right now I'm cvsup'ing back to June 1st (to be
safe) ...
