Mr. O'Connor et al:
More accurately, the last line would indicate your second DMA channel is
set incorrectly. use the 'boot -c' configurator to play with the flags
line (I had a similar problem with FreeBSD 3-STABLE and mine works with
flags 0x16). If your secondary DMA channel is C, your

Do not neglect your motherboard documentation. On my BX-6v1, for

Hello,
How can I make netboot.com?
When I try "make" in /usr/src/sys/i386/boot/netboot I receive:
Warning: Object directory not changed from original /usr/src/sys/i386/boot/netboot
cc -O2 -DNFS -DROMSIZE=16384 -DRELOC=0x9 -DPCI -DPCI_VENDOR=0x10ec
-DPCI_DEVICE=0x8029 -DPCI_CLASS=0x02,0x00,0x
Well, at least part of the problem is that my network card and my
sound card are on irq 5. Time to buy a new PnP SB16, I guess.

Yeah, the builds I started last night fell over due to this. I'm
really not sure what happened and can only assume some sort
I need to get some protection for our servers and I need to
know if FreeBSD supports the almighty APC UPS (shutting the
servers down in the worst case and rebooting them when power

I also wonder if anyone can comment on quality APC delivers and
if I need to

Hello All,
I've been using NFS on stable (3.x, 4.x) for a while now, and when it
works, it seems to be fast and reliable. However, I've noticed that in
any case where it doesn't work (nfs server goes down, cable gets
disconnected, weird network card driver issues, etc), the client
machines seem
I have made a few customizations to my /usr/sbin/adduser
application that allows the administrator to use a string
of random characters as password.
If anyone's interested, mail me and I'll cc the patch.

Hi all,
due to a missing RELENG_4_1_1_RELEASE tag for
src/usr.sbin/pkg_install/info/perform.c
pkg_info is not built when doing a "make world" for 4.1.1.
(Or: cvsup7.freebsd.org has the tag missing)
