You can reconfigure your network interface using the sysinstall
utility (/stand/sysinstall). If you are not using DHCP make sure
that you have a DNS server and GATEWAY configured.

It is because FreeBSD comes with smp and apic precompiled into the kernel.
VMware does not support smp. So you need to start it in safe mode, install,
first boot, start in safe mode, recompile your kernel WITHOUT smp and apic.
Then it will work like a charm :)

Does anyone have a FreeBSD driver for the the Lilliput 7" touch screen
that works or in development? I know the Linux folks have one out there.

You need to escape the metacharacters, so $ will be \$.
Double quotes expand variables, single quotes do not, sou cou could
just put it all in single quotes. The local system will see the $ as a
literal, but the remote system will see it as a variable.

The card is a 9500-12 despite the driver saying otherwise. The array is
built at 2.7T through the 3ware bios. bsdlabel just refuses to accept a
label larger than 700-something gig.
