I do not trust this at all. I would bet doing a portupgrade would break xorg
more or less irreversibly. I have already gone through this trying to upgrade

It did not work on a special usb-hub on my system. Connecting it to
another hub, I was able to access the device and load data to it.

The fusefs rc script will run kldload /usr/local/modules/fuse.ko.
