I can connect to my samba shares reliably with 98/95/ME/2000 but when i try and connect
with XP pro the xp pro machine locks up like its waiting for something
and i eventually have to ctr/alt/del and reboot or log off of it.

i've got a box and i was able to do a boot -s to recover the root passwd.
When i got to the prompt # i've :
-mount -u /
-mount -a
and then when i type passwd nothing happens.
i've notice that /etc/passwd has a simbolic link to /var/etc/passwd and also
/usr/bin/passwd
have a simbolic link to /
such as the serial ata, smart
card reader.
I can live without the serial ata and smart card but not without a NIC.

I am getting these signal 11 core dumps on the
mailman (python) helper programs and seen something
to do with gcc that might be affecting it.
Someone suggested rebuilding gcc to the next rev but
I thought i would run it across the list and see if anyone else
is having this problem or has the fix.

Thanks for the help.
I still have a problem starting up the X windows.
First of all the login screen for X windows still does not allow me to
get into the system. When I type my login name and password , the
screen goes blank and the login screen reappears after some time. If I
type C-A-F1
partition.
I don't know what the problem is.

There are two different diverged mfi drivers!
One that comes with FreeBSD and works well with the 9260 cards both
under i386 and amd64.
Then we have the LSI driver, this one works under i386 and some versions
also works under amd64 but the latest on
d/, and as its decedents, neither
would have BSD or Linux. Is BSD relevant? Looks like it's /essential/
given the context of the question.

I have set up wireless AP with a static IP and bridged it to my internal
wired network on RE0.
I can successfully connect with WPA to the wireless network and browse other
computers on the wired net fine,
I can log into the freebsd machine using ssh no problem as long as if I
connect via the wirel

Ok I have a wireless interface ath0 and a wired re0 interface.
I would like to have hostapd running on the wireless interface and allow
access to the wired network also.
For the most part I have this working on most systems with one exception,
one of my clients cant connect

Chrome has a native tts API that extension authors can use,
