I'm at my wit's end. It was a short trip.
I can start slapd directly, but not from the startup script slapd.sh and
therefore not automatically at boot.
Starting slapd directly works fine, and I can access the database:
[EMAIL PROTECTED] aaron]# ll /usr/local/libexec/slapd
-rwxr-xr
ran this:
/usr/local/etc/rc.d/slapd.sh stop
and that worked.
So, the problem is related to slapd.sh running libexec/slapd with -u
ldap -g ldap, together with whatever configuration problems I have.
Looking into it.

I'd recommend replacing your pci modem or sound card with an isa device.
That will clear you a spot. ISA devices are pretty darn cheap these days.
I don't think you will be happy with an isa controller.
I wouldn't even know what to recommend to you for isa controller.

I would recommend creating a Fat 32 partion for transferring files between
FreeBSD and XP. This will work as long as you have not used all (four per
drive) of your primary partions.

I have a UFS filesystem inside a zpool:
tank on /tank (zfs, local)
/dev/zvol/tank/ufs on /mnt/ufs (ufs, local, acls)
If I add that entry (/dev/zvol/tank/ufs) to /etc/fstab, it will try to
mount as a critical filesystem on boot, however, because ZFS hasn't yet
loaded, this fails and causes all s

zombie processes.
There is probably a file named "lock" somewhere under the .mozilla
directory in you home directory. Usually these are left behind when
firefox has exited uncleanly. Remove the "lock" file and all should
be back to normal...

if there is more I need installed on the FreeBSD end to make things work.
I really appreciate your time and any assistance you can

trying saying it could not open the display. My XServer is indeed
running (XWin -ac -multiwindow) as I can connect via a local CoLinux
install just fine.

I've read a number of times that people hide their ssh version string so that
attackers don't know what version you are running. I've read the
documentation and can't seem to figure out how to do this. Can somebody

I have RTFM but I still need a l

kernel installed and can't get world installed - I could cvsup back to
-RELEASE and get back to a safe state, but I'd rather get this little
wrinkle worked out.

If that was the problem (buildworld happenning as I type) then thank
you and my apologies for the oversight. New system, didn't bother to
make sure the BIOS date was right and ntp wasn't yet setup.

I have recently performed that exact operation, I had a lot of trouble with
filenames. Created a common shared folder using samba and AppleTalk using
netatalk. I did not spend much time configure the share. I was pushed for
time and a little lazy.

I get to that step and get the message "class not found"
should it be?:
gmirror insert boot /dev/ad6?
or something?
