ThinkPad X30 installation problem

Hello, Is there a way to manually assign device drivers to PCI cards on an x86 system with FreeBSD 4.11? I want to assign fxp0 to the nic card in the first PCI slot, fxp1 to the second PCI slot, fxp2 to the third, etc. Is there any way to accomplish this? Thanks! - J
