need a 3bsd boot sector back. Scheme is ;
0 Primary XP
0 Extended FAT32
1 Primary FreeBSD
Approx 1/3 disc for each. How can I restore the 3bsd

Sorry to keep banging on about this but does anyone actually
have uk pound signs working in 7.2? What font and keymap
are you using? And, what actually is the process for reporting
bugs or getting help with problem like this. Any advice appreciated

OK, this is where I am up to. I have plugged my 7.1 Release hard disc
back in and I get £ signs no problem. So, I then unplug my KVM and
mini keyboard and plug standard ps2 kb / ps2 mouse in. I do a minimal
install of 7.2 Release from DVD and make sure I have uk.cp850 in my
/etc/rc.conf

One of the things I absolutely love about FreeBSD
is the 'Minimal Install' option. I can't tell you how
fast you can install and boot the base system but
its F-A-S-T! Then, I can fetch latest ports and
install _what_I_Want_ - not what someone else
thinks I *might* want. This gets top
/etc/fstab is a File System Table used for mounting filesystems.
You are a ways off just yet in having a filesystem on acd0 to mount.
You can have a 'live fs' on dvd ram but its a bit laggy ...

I installed one of these recently under CentOS and it
worked exactly as a SATA disc. Its more convenient
than plugging data / power every day and looks more
professional when used for customers servers.

I noticed that fetchmail created a file mbox but
Mutt creates a 'Mail' directory however the mail
seems to download into /var/mail
Mutt asks me on exit to copy to mbox format.
The Mail directory also has only one folder and
on exit is empty. /var/mail still has copies.

Im sure I had this working on 6.1 but Diablo-Jre pkg_add now
complains that javavmwrapper is a later version than required
by it, but installs anyway. No jvm plugin appears in about:plugins
and pkg_delete refuses to remove.

Can anyone post some good pointers for setting
up ACPI or APM so that I get automatic susepend
afer x mins of inactivity and woken up on LAN
request ?
(in particular shut down disc / slow or shut
down psu fan - its the noise I am concerned
about)

fine)

I am running 6.0 on a little rackserver.
Alot of the time its inactive and I was
wondering about trying to setup ACPI
the main reason being to spin down the
disc / PSU so its a bit quieter (its in my
office) I would require it to wake on
LAN activity. How feasable is this
and what steps do I need

Is there a way to create a hdd resore solution with
set of boot floppies that will support my tape drive
access the tape and restore the entire hard disc in
case of disc failure disaster ? ie So I could install
a new disc and be up and running without doing any
additional admin? I guess like a 'g
