I have bought a new Maxtor DiamondMax 80Gig disk, to replace the old one.
I will have only one disk in the PC.
I am looking to build using boot floppies and FTP.
There is no CD drive on the PC.

I don't want to share files or act as a full time fileserver.
I simply wish to exchange files ocassionally, e.g. copy FreeBSD backup files to
the XP box to burn on CD.
I used to use anon ftp for this type of thing b
Is it safe to disconnect & connect printer from printer port while machines are

Hi,
I can start apache with SSL ok from the command line

I've now put the following into /etc/rc.conf hoping that it will start at boot
time.
apache_enable="YES"
apache_flags="startssl"
This starts Apache on boot time but not with SSL
Any ideas where I'm going wrong ?

Hi,
I've just installed 5.3 with Gnome window manager.
I see there are loads of email clients available but haven't found any
reviews.
Are there any reviews out there which compare / contrast / recommend ?
I'd like something lightweight but with a GUI. Not PINE but not a
'Outlook' type thing.
Sorry,
I got those version numbers wrong, let me try again
what I'm getting is ...

Just for the record ...
I wasn't able to persuade FreeBSD to recognise the drive,
but changing the CDROM drive to another model fixed the
problem.
All ok now.

I was wondering if any subscibers to this list recognise the
following problem.
I just purchased 2 identical machines and I am looking to install 4.7

Hi,
I've just installed Imagemagick from the ports directory
ImageMagick-5.4.7-1
I'm having problems running a simple mogrify and reported this to the
Imagemagick
mail list who suggested it was because I hadn't set the environment
variable TMPDIR.
I've now tried doing that by placing
setenv TMP
