Well it's an upstream bug. So port maintainer is not the issue. It's being
worked after n looks like simple fix per upstream bug report.

Well you have a point however some ports require gpl software to compile
like opendnssec it is just a build requirement and not a run dependant. You
would need to speak with developers to have them change their software to
not depend on these restricted licenses.

You mean operating system as distribution is a Linux term. There's not much
different between HARDENEDBSD and FreeBSD besides that HardenedBSD fixes
vulnerabilities and has a an excellent ASLR system compared to the proposed
one for FreeBSD.
