Sorry I missed the first email or two and didnt realise you were trying
the latest from the intel site.
Intel (well an intel employee but as part of his day job from what I
understand from his posts,) maintains the driver in the source tree.
The last I remember him

Greetings,
I'm trying to get the Wake on Lan feature working on a 7.2-release box.
I have two Intel NIC's, a Pro/100 and Pro/1000 (82541PI). The Pro/100
worked great right from the start using the generic kernel and was
detected by the fxp driver. Using the wol (from ports) on a

IMHO, too much info packed in here, making reading difficult.

What if there was a single line added, right after status for instance:
wol: (magic) unicast link multicast
will wake on: magic
Adding two new lines of output for a minor feature like that
is indeed overkill.
Actually I have been thinking about this for a while.
Maybe the WOL information should somehow be integrated
into interface flags? There would be quite a few wake on lan
options to be squeezed i

Wow ! seems like you spent a fair time assembling that lot,

As usual I got the numbers wrong :)
Sorry if this is causin
n the web and has a very good section on configuring wake on lan:

Look at page 90 in that PDF. Even if your chip is different the general
procedure is likely the same on most chips so this serves as a good
example (along with a working implementatio

Hello Hackers,
I have written a patch for the if_sis driver that enables
wake on lan on the NatSemi DP8381[56] network chip.
This did not work before because the driver needs to explicitely
configure the card to enter wake on lan mode on system shutdown.
I also added ioctls to make wake events
Hello,
I have written a patch that teaches the sis driver to put
the NatSemi DP83815 chip into wake on lan mode on system shutdown.
A _very_ sketchy, but working, version, that still includes debugging
related macro craft that won't be in the final version, can be found at
