I don't think that there is too much similarity with the vmvare logo
neither.
But still an important concern, to keep uniqueness in mind...

It's not that similar to the VMWare Player logo anymore if you look at
the "pure" logo:

The VMWare logo consists of 3 arrows and an arc / corner plus it
I personally like Variation 1 best; however I have concerns--which I
think others have voiced about the similarity to a VMWare logo (
