A re-write of the framework that does not leverage the innovations in Flash
Player and AIR meant to enhance performance on devices (especially IOS
devices), will IMHO, be probably a waste of effort.

So next FP will have current VM and new VM? Is AIR also going to ship with
these 2 VMs?
And what does this mean for AIR apps compiled to native code.

It seems obvious to me.
For Flex to remain meaningful and relevant to me going forward it should
retain all its good parts (MXML, UI Components and libs) and be able to
target as many devices as possible. In my mind that means targeting:
1. First priority target ASNext and the new AVM, by reworkin

Any idea when the good-looking version of the Flex website is going to be
up?
Waiting on that to start making a noise about Apache Flex 4.8 with a bang.

Ok thanks for the info
It's a relief to know at least somebody is maintaining and advancing it :)
It's a rather crucial piece for most video related apps.

About OSMF. What is the status of OSMF? Is it being actively maintained and
developed by Adobe?
By "Won't happen...
I want to add too, that this is an excellent tool and works like a charm. I
also agree with 1).
The installer should be emphasized prominently on the page, since it makes
it dead simple to install the SDK.

What is the final URL for the new website going to be ?
Will it replace whatever is on http://incubator.apache.org/flex/ ?

Looks great. See a few minor issues on the main page (did not look at the
rest):
1. There is weird horizontal jiggle when hovering over the main menu
buttons "About" "Getting Started" etc.
2. Same thing with the second horizontal menu "Supported Platforms", "News"
3. In IE 9 there is a border out
Yes. I use this heavily.
It's an absolute essential part of my workflow when creating Flex apps,
that have a very high bar for the UX, especially when the UX involves
detailed animations.

I disagree. I think Spark skinning was the best thing to happen to Flex.
It makes it possible to do some insanely custom skins that I would have
shuddered to think about attempting to do with Halo
Yes it makes it harder to simply style based skinning initially, but if you
use that a lot, its possi
Enough with the logo already. The voting has determined a logo that the
majority feel is great.
In any case if Apache Flex lives up to and exceeds the expectations, that
so many have people have of it now, then even a logo less worthy than what
is at #1 now, will be forgiven.
But if it turns out t

Love the logo, the font not so much.
Would prefer to use a variation of this with the logo as is and a different
and not so flexible font for the text.
ID 42: 2.5 pt
ID 49: 2.5 pt
Keeping the version number the same i.e Apache Flex 4.6 could prove
confusing.
Resetting the version number i.e Apache Flex 1.0, would break continuity
with the prev SDK versions, and add to confusion
Personally Flash Builder version number and Flex SDK version number was
never a source of conflict
